The Gomukh Trek is a scenic and spiritually significant Himalayan adventure located in Uttarakhand, India. This 4-6 day trek takes you to the source of the Ganges River, Gomukh, situated at an altitude of 4,023 meters (13,200 feet). The trek offers breathtaking views of surrounding peaks, glaciers, and valleys, and is considered one of the most sacred treks in Hinduism.
The trek begins from Gangotri, a sacred town in the Uttarkashi district, and traverses through lush forests, picturesque villages, and rugged terrain. En route, marvel at majestic views of Shivling, Bhagirathi, and other prominent Himalayan peaks. The trek’s highlight is the stunning vista from Gomukh, where the Ganges River originates from the glaciers.
 

Day 01: Haridwar Railway Station/ Dehradun Airprot – Rishikesh (25 kms/1.5 hrs)

On arrival at Haridwar Railway Station/ Dehradun Airport, Meet our Representative & drive to Rishikesh, Check in at Hotel & Later proceed for city tour Like Ram jhula & Parmarth Ashra.

Evening Ganga Aarti at triveni ghat.

An overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: Rishikesh – Uttarkashi (180 kms/07-08 hrs)

After breakfast, Drive to Uttarkashi and check In at Hotel.

Day 03: Uttarkashi - Gangotri

After breakfast, we proceed to Gangotri enroute enjoy picturesque Harsil valley, Bhagirathi River and the most magnificent view of the Himalayas.Reach at temple Darshan and perform pooja.

Gangotri - As per The Hindu mythology, Goddess Ganga - the daughter of Lord Brahma, showed herself as a waterway to acquit the transgressions of King Bhagirathi’s forerunners, taking after his extreme retribution of a few centuries, and Lord Shiva got her into his tangled locks to minimize the gigantic effect of her fall. She came to be called Bhagirathi at her incredible source. Along the right back of Bhagirathi stands the sanctum of Gangotri devoted to the Goddess. Roosted at a stature of 3042 meters (10,000 ft), it was developed in the mid 18th century by a Gorkha Commander, Amar Singh Thapa.

Day 04: Gangotri/ Cheerbasa/ Bhojbasa 3350 mts.(14 kms trek).

After breakfast gear up for easy walk to Bhojabasa visiting Cheerbasaenroute.

By easy walk you will pass through dense deodar forests before emerging into the wide un-forested valley. It then carries on to a small isolated forest of pine at Chirbasa, literally the abode of Pines.

Overnight at Bhojbasa.( camp)

Day05: Bhojbasa/Goumukh & Tapovan 3850 mts./ Bhojbasa (9 Kms. Trek one side)

After breakfast, continuing along the pilgrim grassy hillsides. Trail then curves, to unfold a breathtaking view of wild flowers studded meadows crowned by the Bhagirathi group of peaks and wide sandy beach at Gomukh, where the holy Ganges gushes out of the snout of the Gomukh glacier, is set in a wide moraine-stream valley Shivling 6540 m, sits looking down like an old learned man, while the Bhagirathi I, II and III tower above.

After passing some time trek back to Bhojwasa.( Camp)

Day 06: Bhojbasa – Gangotri - Uttarkashi

After breakfast retrace steps to Gangotri (14 kms trek), and then Drive to Uttarkashi

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 07: Uttarkashi– Rishikesh ( 180 kms/ 7/8 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, on arrive Check in at Hotel.

An overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 08 : Rishikesh – Dehradun (25 kms/ 01 hr)

On time your flight we will drop at Dehradun airport.
